Description: This workshop examines the practice of research on international development in the context of different political regimes. In the sessions, we will focus on basics of fieldwork preparation, ethical issues associated with conducting research in the Global South, and best practices in dealing with multiple political environments. The sessions will help graduate students reflect on the major methodological considerations in conducting research, and its consequences in designing research and implementing in the project.
