The CERES community deeply mourns the passing of Dr. Raul Pacheco-Vega, Full Professor at FLACSO México. He collaborated with CERES from 2020 to 2024 in developing and the teaching a new Post-Fieldwork Training Course, as a key new addition to the PhD programme. Through his involvement with CERES PhDs in this course, Raul accompanied and supported many doctoral candidates during the challenging process of transforming fieldwork into dissertation writing.
His work on public policy, environmental governance, and mixed methods research was internationally recognised, but many within CERES will especially remember his generosity, warmth, and commitment to academic mentorship and collective learning.
